Fairytales can always be a great source of inspiration for slot game developers and there have been a number of the industry leaders to have looked at creating their own takes on such stories.
Playtech are no different as their Piggies and the Wolf slot game clearly follows the tale of ‘The Three Little Pigs’ but with a rather fun twist.
We were impressed with the animations and cartoon style graphics whilst doing our Piggies and the Wolf review and we are sure players will be delighted with what they experience as well.
Piggies and the Wolf slot game is played across a rather traditional format as it adopts five reels and four rows that consist of 50 fixed paylines in which players can look to try and form a number of winning combinations.
Players can either test the game via the Piggies and the Wolf Free Play version that is made available on our page, although those that want to play for real money can place a bet from as little as $0.50 per spin up to a maximum bet of up to $500.
Playtech have provided players with the opportunity to customise their gameplay experience with the feature of ‘Autoplay’. Bettors are able to select from between 10 to 99 spins to happen without interruption, therefore allowing them to sit back and enjoy the action that unfolds on the reels before them.
When taking a look at the paytable, it was clear that there are a number of symbols available to form winning combinations. These include the playing card icons of A, K, Q, J and 10 as well as the three pigs, the wolf, the three different houses, the Piggies and the Wolf slot logo and a bonus icon. The pig with the sunglasses and the house made of bricks each pay out some of the biggest rewards, with players able to achieve rewards of 1,000 for five that appear on a payline.
The wolf appears as the Wild and provides players with a reward of 2,500 when five appear, whilst also being able to activate a special feature; as can the game’s Scatter (the logo) and the bonus symbol.
The first of the Piggies and the Wolf bonus features we managed to trigger was the ‘Huff n Puff’ game. This was activated when the wolf made an appearance on reel five. He blows at the icons on the reels, which will then rearrange them to potentially provide some big rewards. This feature can continually be retriggered as well, which is a great bonus!
The next feature that we found was the free spins feature. This game is played when a Scatter appears on reels one, three and five. If this happens, players will receive 15 free spins. If the wolf appears to the right of any of the pigs, the rewards can be big! The wolf and the pig will then run across the screen and any icons that are crossed will then be turned into Wilds.
The third bonus feature of this slot game is the ‘Blow the House Down’ and this is activated when three bonus symbols appear on the reels. The player is then meant to help the wolf choose symbols to blow down the houses. This game will end when an attempt is unsuccessful. If players are able to blow down the brick house, they will win 2,500x their stake!
RTP (return to player)
Playtech’s Piggies and the Wolf slot game is a really fun and enjoyable game that will provide players with good memories of the classic fairytale, however the return to player (RTP) rate might provide a little disappointment as it stands at a rather low 92.1%! Nonetheless, there are opportunities to win big rewards, so giving the reels a spin is still certainly worthwhile.
